Another reason to come to the Appalachian Trail Conservancy Biennial Conference

Are you writing an outdoor book? Have you written a book with an outdoor theme?  Are you looking for a publisher?

At least three publishers of outdoor books will exhibit at the Appalachian Trail Conservancy Biennial Conference. It’s a great opportunity to browse through their books and talk to a publisher.

Milestone Press publishes outdoor guides for the Southern Appalachians. They published my two hiking guides: Hiking the Carolina Mountains (2007) and Hiking North Carolina’s Blue Ridge Mountains (2009). They are a pleasure to work with. If you have a manuscript or a proposal for a book that fits with their mission, check them out.

History Press is a large press that concentrates on books with local themes. They published my third book, The Mountains-to-Sea Trail Across North Carolina which is not a guidebook but a narrative about hiking the MST. If you have an idea about a book on local history, you need to talk to them.

Then of course, the Appalachian Trail Conservancy publishes a lot of books, not all of them strictly about the A.T. Brian King, who will be behind the table at the ATC Store, is the publisher for the Conservancy. Chat him up if you have a book proposal.

The ATC Biennial is a unique opportunity to meet publishers face to face and see what fits their needs and yours.

Check out the exhibits at the Biennial.
